Hello!

I have a Webasto Thermo Top Evo which is connected to the Van pi with the k-bus adapter. The existing Webasto Heater flow usually works well for turning the heater on and off.

However, sometimes the Van Pi will not receive a response from the webasto when sending the “Keep Alive” buffer. I know it’s not an issue with the Webasto heater because I’ve tried resetting the Webasto and trying again but still no response on the Van Pi. When I unplug the USB k-bus adapter and re-plug it in then the Van Pi receives responses again.

It’s a minor inconvenience but wondering if anyone has suggestions for fixing this? I am renting this van out and do not want to have ask renters to reset the serial connection.

Can you use node Red ?
Check in the Connection flow If the serial Interface is connected.

Yes, Node Red says there’s a connection. Just sometimes no data is transmitted from the heater to the RPi until the connection is unplugged and plugged back in.
